I take Excedrin for my back. I broke my spine when I was sixteen (11 years ago) and it still gives me aches and pains every now and again. Regular Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen brands don't seem to do anything for me where Excedrin works like a charm. Now. My mother and second youngest brother have ruined their lives with painkillers (hard stuff). They have a problem and wont admit to it. It took my wife to open my eyes to it as she used to have a problem (still addicted. You're always addicted, you just learn to resist it). She showed me their lies, their deceit and how to notice when they're high or not. She gave it up when she found out she was pregnant. Her mom didn't give it up during her childhood and she didn't want to be like her mother. I have an aversion to pain meds. Only take them when it involves my back. Even after major and minor surgeries I avoided pain meds because of how strong addiction runs in my family. |

I'm fortunate to have never had a medicine addiction. Unless you're talking about a certain green plant

I don't think the slight health benefits can compensate for the increased cardiovascular risks that ibuprofen poses. There's actually quite a lot of evidence for that. There are also a couple of studies that show a high chance of stomach bleedings when taken in combination with alcohol. |

You could try to switch to softer painkillers, like paracetamol. Idk, I'm not an expert on medicins, but when doctors here highly advice against it, I feel like there's a reason for that. |
